COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Sunday July 28th 2019 will see the 2nd running of the Federation Ultra Trail over 75km, 62.5km, 50km, 25km or 12km.

Starting at Monarto Sports Ground next to Monarto Zoo, the 75km trail follows the Lavender Federation trail via a unique Monarto Woodlands Conservation area and up to Callington Hill to complete a full loop of the newly formed Olearia Trail. Runners then take the ridge top of the Eastern Lofty Ranges with stunning views of the Bremmer Valley before taking some sweet single trail to descend back to the Monarto Sports Complex to finish the first 25km of the course.

The next part of the course we have been extremely lucky to partner with Monarto Zoo and gain privileged access to 10km of trails including many of the well known walking trails within the park that pass animal enclosures. $20 from each entry will go to the Zoo that will help protect endangered animals including the all important Rhino enclosures. There will be toilets and water available at the visitor center.

Upon exiting Monarto Zoo via the planned Wild African Savanna area we enter through the stunning Kinchina Conservation Park. Here runners will see many kangaroos, unique rock formations and flora as they wind there way through Rocky Gully and ascend and descend White Hill, take on the Epic Princes Hwy Sepentine Singletrack descent and back onto the Lav/Fed trail.

The final kms take in pelican filled wetlands, the first bridge to span the Murray and a riverside finish at Sturt Reserve.
